Emergency Services Training Program

 

Program Description:

The Emergency Services Training (E.S.T.) Program is offered by the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association to High school juniors/seniors OR any fire company volunteer.  (Preference is given to those who volunteer within Carroll County)

The E.S.T. program offers:

  • Fire Department Basic Orientation, Protective Equipment and SCBA
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness / Operations
  • Firefighter I
  • Firefighter Survival
  • Rescue Technician Courses
  • Emergency Medical Technician (National Registry / Maryland EMT-B)

Upon graduation of the program, the participants will have met both state and National certifications in order to provide Emergency Services in their community.

Program Requirements:

  • Be 16 years of age by the start of the school year
  • Be a current member of volunteer fire company
  • Pass a Carroll County Fire Department Physical

High School Students are required to receive permission from:

  • High School Counselor AND High School Principal. 
  • Must also have All graduation requirements completed or have them scheduled in their senior year. 

All participants must have permission from their Fire Company Chief.

Classes will begin promptly at 12:00PM and will run until 3:00PM.

The E.S.T Program will follow the Carroll County Public School calendar.

Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Carroll County Public Safety Training Center Located at 50 Kate Wagner Road Westminster, MD 21157
