This morning, September 11, 2023 at 8:30, members of the Emergency Services agencies, including CCVESA member Volunteer Departments, Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS, Carroll County Sheriff's Department, Carroll County Public Safety, Carroll County Commissioners and community members gathered for the 22nd anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Guest Speakers included Commissioner Rothstein, Valerie Hawkins (Director Public Safety), Charles Simpson, Jr (MSFA 2nd VP), Chief Robinson (CCDFEMS) and Firefighter Jack Dewan Jr. (CCDFEMS). Jack spoke of the direct impact 9/11 events had on him and his family. Jack's youngest uncle perished that morning as a firefighter assigned to FDNY Ladder 3.
