The Staff ID is used as a unique identifying number for each member of a Carroll County Fire Department. This number is then used in the "ID" field of each department's Emergency Reporting and Staff management system.
We use the MIEMSS ePINS ID number as our source for this unique number. This ensures no duplication and allows the easy use of the same number for members that are transferring from another county or are being hired in a paid capacity.
The MIEMSS ePINS ID is a 7 digit number that will also serve as the login ID for the member's access to their EMS licensing information.
We use this MIEMSS ePINS ID even if the member is a non-emergency responder and may never obtain any EMS Medical Certification.
Instructions for use:
Have your new member click on the button below to complete the application for their new ID. The Application process is actually a 2-STEP PROCESS.
Remember, if a new member already has Maryland EMS certification, they already have an ID and it is on their EMS Pocket Card.
Step 1: using the link at the bottom, create the user profile account application. When that is submitted, the member will get an email with their userid and password. Using that new userid and password, the member must now log back in to complete Step 2.
Step 2: Completing the application request for "ePINS Affiliation". Be sure to select "Public Safety Personnel" for the Affiliation Level. Once the "ePINS affiliation" step is completed, they will receive their new ePINS ID number and the email notifications will be triggered. Click here for a presentation showing this full process.
At the same time, the TWO (2) previously named Department Service representatives will also receive an email advising that the new member has completed the process and will be provided with that new member's ePINS ID.
