On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Charles Simpson Jr of Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company and Westminster Fire Engine & Hose Co 1 was installed as the 2025-26 President of the Maryland State Fire Fighters Association during the 133rd convention in Ocean City.

During the installation, Chief Robinson presented Charles with a Certificate of Recognition signed by the Carroll County Commissioners.

Charles is the 9th Volunteer to serve as President of MSFA in the 133 years from Carroll County. He is the first from Pleasant Valley VFC and the 6th from Westminster FD.
