Data Export Instructions

To save this page of instructions to your local machine for offline viewing, right click on the menu link on the left for this page 'Data Export' and choose 'Save Target As'.  This will save the html page to your local machine in the folder you specify.  You can then later view it offline and print if you like.

Step 1 - Select from the Firehouse Menu "File -> Station Management - > Export to Station".  You will get this window to open up.  On the left side, check only the 5 databases that are checked on the right.

  • NFIRS Incident Reports
  • EMS/Search & Rescue Incident reports
  • Staff Members
  • Staff Activities
  • Training Classes

On the Right for 'Export Records',  For the FIRST time, Choose Custom Date of January 1, 2002 and choose your 3 digit station number.

Leave the other check boxes UNCHECKED.  In the 'Export To' box, specify a directory for Firehouse to write the export file.  Whatever directory you choose, Firehouse will output the file to the name FH5Expo.FH5.

Press "Ok" for the Export Action to continue.

AFTER THIS FIRST EXPORT, we will choose the same 5 databases, but we will choose the option "Last Export" so that we are only sending changes to those records.  When choosing this option, you will see it figures out the date of your last export.

This is the option we will choose in February to send the January 2003 data.

Step 2 - When the Export is complete, you will be given the opportunity to view the log.  Do so to see just what is written out.  You do not need to print this.

Step 3 - Remember where you stored the output file.  You will need it to transmit the data to our secure Internet Data storage server.
