Our colleagues in Sykesville have suffered a tremendous loss with the collapse of their social hall roof and ensuing fire. All personnel, apparatus, and engine room were spared damage, but their living quarters, social hall, commercial kitchen, and administrative offices were wiped out. Fire, Rescue, and EMS service will be maintained.
I ask that all of us provide any support we can to our fellow firefighters and friends at the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department. Please say a prayer of thanks that all personnel were safe.
