Wednesday December 30, 2009 was a proud day for the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association and it's Hazardous Materials Team. At 12:00 noon today, CCVESA President Doug Alexander officially placed the new Haz Mat 30 in service. The members of both the Haz Mat Team and the New Windsor Fire Department gathered at the station today to switch all of the equipment over to the new unit. The new unit is a 2010 International/ Pierce with a 19' body. It comes equipped with a 25 kw Hydraulic Generator, 9000 watt Light Tower, air compressor, electric and air reels and is housed at the New Windsor Station. A media event was held at the New Windsor Fire Station on Thursday January 7, 2010 to "unveil" the new Haz Mat unit to the public.
